An initiative to introduce state of the art small scale detail design and construction techniques and materials to east Africa starting In Kenya. Revolutionizing the fit-out and interior design industry from low level un-planned working ways to a competitive sector of talented designers and implementers setting milestone project durations in very systematic ways.
Our newly set up facility in Nairobi caters for modern minimal wood works for new developments, work places and residential spaces. Our aim is to introduce the modern home or work setting to east Africa but on a mass scale, therefore the factor we have emphasized the most on is the cost of our products which is how we can guarantee our furnishings to be among the most affordable and mildly priced in the local market.
Working in a sector which involves creation and transformation of spaces requires various types of materials and raw materials. Being based in a country which does not have a big culture of manufacturing always opens up opportunities. We therefore took the initiative of entering into production for materials which we think had the maximum potential and use for us. Starting with our own brand of tile adhesive and gypsum filler, we are looking to further expand into this.
A country with a deficit in the balance of trade heavily inclining towards imports opens up a lot of logistical opportunities. A vast amount of required material or appliances have to be brought in and as a company doing this very frequently we have in-house customs and tax clearance services. In addition to that, working with several clients in large scale retail we started providing outsourced warehousing in bonded warehouses. This service saves our clients storage space at retail stores, requires less man-power and allows for a much more efficient use of time for retail staff.
The founders at 4C all had a very simple motive and inspiration. We all share a fascination for this part of the world in terms of culture and geography. It is somewhere we have all been able to call home and feel permanent while realizing its massive potentials. Every form of trade we have ventured into has basically had this common basic inspiration for all of us, which is why we aim at combining these potentials to achieve something wonderful. East Africa is where we call it home.
